Perdido Bay Golf Club - Cottages on the Green

Like many golfers, a chance to stay and play at the course you are playing is always a welcome combination. More often than not however, those types of packages can range well outside most golfers budgets at times.

In Northwest Florida, Perdido Bay Golf Club is one location that has the stay and play golfers are looking for -- At a great price.

Our Senior Writer Eddie Garrison visited the location recently and stayed at their Cottages on the Green while playing 36 holes of golf at Perdido Bay. Here's what he had to say about his experience there.

Living in the Pensacola area, I have to admit I had never been out to Perdido Bay Golf Club to play any rounds of golf.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the course, it's practice facilities and overall feel and experience I had at the club.

Staying at their Cottages on the Green allows golfers a great experience and convenience of walking out their back doors, basically straight to the course.

The cottage had a great layout with a full kitchen, dinning area, living room area and separate bedroom areas that offered two queen beds in each of the bedrooms.

A nice screened in patio on the rear of the cottage also made a nice feature to hang out in after the round, in a very peaceful and quite surrounding.

The club itself has a great practice facility that has a large range, pitching area, green side and fairway bunker practice facility along with three practice putting greens. One of which was right behind the cottages, for a private putting green for guests.

The layout of the course is also equally as nice.

Perdido Bay Golf Club was the former site of the Pensacola Open for 10 years, and continues to hold its' integrity as a premier championship golf course. And saw names such as Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart and Curtis Strange strolling it's fairways.

The course has something to offer the most seasoned golfer, all the way down to the weekend warriors.

My overall experience at Perdido Bay Golf Club was a great one. The entire staff were friendly and very eager to answer any questions or point us in the right direction.

With the combination of Cottages on the Green and the Perdido Bay Golf Club. This is a can't miss stop for a golfer's weekend getaway in Northwest Florida.
